Only channel 5 on t v's

Have just turned on the t v but can only receive channel 5, all other channels non existent?
2 t v's 2 vcr's all working but only receiving ch 5, t v is a Toshiba 33 inch and a Ferguson portable,14 inch, non of them have been moved so no loose cable/ariel leads, the fact that we are only receiving ch 5 is puzzling as that is usually the worst for reception so suggests ariel is ok.
Although earlier I recorded BBC 2's Working Lunch and that recorded ok.
Could there be a local transmitter down?

Ours went off too but is back on - how come none of this info was more readily publicised - maybe it was on the local stations though?
