I want to buy a new TV

32 in.

For no more than £330.

But preferably £300 or under.

I'm torn between an LG 32in (specifically the LG 32LD450 32 Inch Full HD 1080p Digital LCD) and a Toshiba 32" (this one - Toshiba 32BV500B 32 Inch HD Ready Digital LCD TV).

Is one better than the other when it comes to performance and reliability?

My mom had a Toshiba last her 6 years...but then I like the way the LG looks....:undecided:

I still have one of those old TV's big enough to kill a person so this will be my first new style TV. I want something that will give good picture quality, clarity

I picked up the Toshiba 32B700B (1080 jobby with 2 HDMI ports) about 3 weeks ago for £299.99 from Argos. I think it was the same on Play.

I'm very happy with it and thinks it looks good aswell.

    Hope that helps :)

There's none on Amazon for that specific Toshiba, it has good reviews on Argos but so does the LG which is making it hard for me to decide.

    Yes it helps, thanks.

But just one thing - I had to return a Toshiba a little while back because it did something which irked me. When changing channels it wouldn't switch as fast as my other TV; it would black out for maybe a few seconds before going to the next channel. Have you noticed anything like this with yours?

I switch channels a lot so this bothered me more than it would perhaps someone else.
  • If you need further advice then try posting and enquiry on AVForums. I've used them a few times and have found them to be very helpful.

Must say I quite like the LG TVs myself but that's personal preference.
