Was thinking of getting one of these when they go on sale next Thursday. Does anyone own one like this or know if it is any good?

    Hi,

I too am on the lookout for a decent digital to replace my 1.3 Mp but one thing that concerns me about a lot of unknown manuf's is the quality of the lens.

It is the main part, I believe.

Spec is not that great and it's no name brand. Virtually no resale value should you upgrade at some point! You can get branded decent quality cameras at smilar spec for that price. Why not shop around for an hour, check out reviews, check out kelkoo, pricerunner, dealtime, etc and you'll find better! Remember too that even a good 2mp camera will beat many average higher pixel one's every time!

Not sure if it helps, but it looks like it's just a rebadged Vivitar Vivicam 4000, see here:

I agree. 2mp is ample for a high quality 6x4" print or any conceivable web page or computer screen display. Give me a top notch lens in preference to more than 2mp any time.
