I have found a recipie to make limoncello and thought I would have a go. however the recipie originates from USA and states use 1 litre of 'grain' alcohol 190 % proof. I was going to use vodka but not sure about the proof thing. I dont know if the USa way of measureing the alcohol content is the same as ours as far as I am aware all vodka is about the same here but nowwhere near 190% so if anyone can shed light on a substitute I would be grateful.

There was a recipe in Octobers Good Housekeeping that just used normal vodka, 8 lemons and 800g of sugar.
