The choice of car itself can often overcome the prejudices involved with not having new car ownership.
Cheap though a car may be..[see Brock n Roll's post above, for example]...provided it looks clean and tidy, any concerns over whether it is suitable can be overcome.
It may also be worthwhile considering a very cheap, older, larger car?
Simply for work....biting the bullet with higher fuel costs...but still able to give a good impression...which..it appears...seems to matter too much these days?
I bought a Rover 204 from a Classic Ad on e-bay for £400 last year.Excellent condition and looks good. Sailed through this year's MOT. Vauxhall Vectors are good looking as well and cheap to run. That's my next one.

I might be in same position myself very soon.I`m going to try and lease if I can as I will need a decent looking car.I`m going to try the leasing route.I`ve just quickly Googled"bankrupt car leasing" and it came up with a few possibilities.Best thing to do is ring the most relevant ones and if they can`t help they may know a company that can. It`s all down to whoever is underwriting the agreements.Usually it`s three payments down but it may be more in this case.Obviously you will pay more than normal but thems the breaks.
Good luck and please let me know how you get on.0 -

Have you looked at your local credit union most lend based on affordability and with a decent job offer to reassure them and a commitment shown they are a reasonable choice for an affordable loan.
as well as the one for your locality some employers and trade unions offer credit unions too so its worth doing a thorough check to see which you are eligible to join.
Oh and they dont discriminate against BR - be honest and they try to help.0 -
