Loan Extension

I got a graduate loan 2 years ago for £8000 with the Natwest. I pay £250 a month and it is for a three-year period (so only one year to go). To date, all repayments have been fine with no missed payments or delays.

I am currently in the process of buying a house too at the moment. The outstanding balance on my loan is just on £3000.

I am just wondering if if would be possible to contact Natwest and ask for an additional loan of say, £6000 and ask them just to extent the montly payments of £250 for the next 4 or 5 years (or whatever the timescale may be).

Do people know if banks will do this? I just want to double check as I don't want to apply and be refused and end up with a negative credit score.

Some loans have this sort of facility eg. the Cahoot flexiible loan, but I doubt that a graduate loan would have had this flexibility built into it.

The best thing to do is to contact Natwest directly and just ask the question (they don't have to do any searches etc to just answer the question).
