Natwest Step Account :( Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Comments
-
Just wondered if this has happened to anyone else.
I applied for the Natwest basic bank account (Step account) online and took our ID into a branch. I called them yesterday because we hadn't heard anything back from them only to be told that the account had been declined due to adverse credit reference information!! I was shocked because from everything I had read and the advice of CCCS I thought we would still be able to get this account despite the adverse information.
So now I have to start the whole process again with another bank and delay starting my DMP once again grrrrrrrrrrr.
GO in to the branch and open the step account you will get it then ,0 -
There has been a thread on the "Budgeting and bank accounts" board regarding a guy who couldn't get a Co-op Cashminder account because of "adverse credit information." When pushed, the bank told him that there was a suspected fraudulent activity in his credit history. He was most annoyed because as far as he could tell, there has been no such thing. Despite lots of complaints to head office, as far as I know, he still hasn't been able to open his account with the Co-op. It may be worth checking your credit files, even if you have late payments, defaults etc, it shouldn't prevent you opening a basic account. Try another bank and see if you have any further problems, if so then you may have to do some investigating."I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0
