Boots Special Event

Just in case anyone is checking this during work, Boots in Donegall Place is having their advantage card holder event tonight. Spend £50 and get £12 in points. They also have prize draws etc. Even if your not xmas shopping it still a good offer, i shall be stocking up on baby supplies. :money:

  • Spent £75 got 1200 bonus points but then instead of the normal 4 per pound advantage points they deducted the £50 required minimum spend from the total so instead of my anticipated 1500 points I only get 1300. (1200 bonus + 4x25 rather than 1200+4x75)
  • I queried the 1200 bonus with them and they wrote back with the above explanation in my previous post and asked that I complete a questionnairre. I was expecting an online form but got plain text on the email like this (one of several questions):
On a scale of 10-0, with 10 being the highest, as a result of the way the Central Customer Care team handled your contact, how do you feel about recommending Boots to a friend? Your score for us is
As a result of the way your contact was handled by the Central Customer Care Team at Boots, which of these statements best describes how you now feel about shopping at Boots?
I will shop more at Boots
I will shop about the same at Boots
I will shop less at Boots
I will stop shopping at Boots

Do they seriously think anyone is going to take the trouble to edit the email to assign values and then send the email back?
And before you ask, no there wasn't an HTML version on the email, nor was there a link to a web form.

Not being funny.... but why on earth would you think you get 1500 points?
    1200 points for £50 then £25 @ 4 pts per £ = 1300 points

So there was no need to query it in the first place.
I also don't see the issue with sending the survey back. Maybe that's just me tho :-)

I would just hit reply on the email and add your remarks at the end of each question.

Also if you spent £50 yesterday you got a voucher giving you an extra 500 points if you spend £50 on the next 1200 points event.

    1200 points for £50 then £25 @ 4 pts per £ = 1300 points

I agree with you. In effect you were getting your 200 points for spending the first £50, plus an extra 1000 points on top.

When I was there I actually heard a woman asking if she could use her 'double points' voucher and get 2400 points on the night. :rotfl:

Because on MME it said 1200 EXTRA points, maybe this is a linguistic thing but to me "extra" means over and above "normal" (but maybe Boot's small print expressed it differently)

I agree that Boots could have been a lot more transparent in their advertising.

They could have said '1000 extra points' or '6x points' so as not to cause any misunderstanding.
