  • Thanks for all the LV advice - I looked on Ebay & can see they go for nearly as much as they're worth - in one case £12.00's worth went for £11.73 - I don't understand why someone would buy them at that price - am I missing something? Will have a go at using them in Supermarket first but if there are any left over you're top of my list Aureol LOL Hey I just had a thought - it's DS's Birthday party today - I could give all the boys a LV instead of a goodie bag - I'm sure that'll go down well :D

Annibee - you have extra protection in a redundancy situation if you're pregnant. Doesn't mean an employer can't make you redundant but there's an additional hurdle - they have to show they haven't selected you because of the pregnancy . Get yourself some advice asap - CAB/Advice Centre or Union. Good luck.

It's a horrible situation - we're going through the same thing in our work at the moment. I work in an Advice Centre & some of our funding is at risk (for Debt Advice !!). So apart from the horribleness of the redundancy situation - potentially we'll be left with less staff to deal with the higher demand - I could weep really... But I won't - Birthday Party to organise.... :)

I sold Selfridges vouchers 2 years ago for £15, they were worth £20, on top of that P&P, recorded delivery, the purchaser has bought them for nearly what it would cost to buy in the shop! I wasn't complaining! Same with iTunes vouchers, on a good day, I can sell them for nearly their voucher value!

Anyone who buys stuff like this off ebay know why someone would want to pay nearly face value for something they can buy in the shop?

It is very hard out there at the moment, I have decided to hang onto the job I hate, as it is steady income, albeit not enough, and I can keep looking for something else while I am working and earning. As I keep being told at least I have a job.

    Annibee, yes, get some advice.

MsHalffull, have a great party! I have managed to avoid the party route for the last 3 years, but next year will have to have one! Better start saving now!
  • I buy vouchers on ebay for nearly face value because where I live we don't have any of the big shops so can't easily buy them. What i don't get is why someone bids £6 on a £5 amazon voucher??
  • Re vouchers selling on ebay....I have heard before that some people buy them, so that the dont have cash seen going into their bank accounts.... they sell stuff on ebay and then with the funds buy the vouchers so theirs no trace of the cash earned from sales going into their bank accounts...Not sure how true it is (?)....i did sell a m&s voucher worth £20 for 19.50 not long ago, and the with recorded delievery on top of that they actually paid more than the value of the voucher!! but they were well happy
