Call of duty black ops PS3

Just wondering if I should buy it now or wait until a couple of weeks before xmas in case the prices get reduced??
I can't afford to spend £45 on it so am wondering if anyone else has managed to find it cheaper. Apparently there is a code to use on very.co.uk to get it a bit, found the code on gonetomorrow.co.uk which I have not heard of. Not tried the code yet as website is on a go slow.
Any advice will be really appreciated!!

Funny you should write this as I have just logged in to ask the same question. Last year I paid full price for this game for my son after queueing for 2 hours in asda. I then found out that it was £26 in sainsburys for about a week last year, only prob is it is so popular you dont know if there will be any left when you get there? Im not sure whether to pre order or not? Just as a matter of interest I am looking for Xbox 360.

I am trying to see if the very website will accept the code but it's rubbish! I added the game to my basket but it has now disappeared. The code is ZZ551.

Oh, just read that the code is to use only when opening a credit account. Don't like the idea of that.

I am going to wait until it comes out, as when the last one was released both our local Morrissons and Sainsbury's had it for £26 for several day's after release and they had lots of stock.

I doubt it will be more expensive than the pre-order price myself, Blockbusters were doing pre-orders for £43 and frankly I wouldn't spend that much on it anyway.
  • Thanks for this Jog. I begrudge paying alot of money for video games as they get reduced after a while anyway!!

I found it on eBay as a pre order, for 38 is it worth the chance?
Does anyone know for deffinate if sainsbury / morrisons / tesco or asda are gonna sell it as a list leader?

Other than ebay, and as jacki981 has pointed out, there doesn't appear to be much competition on at the moment with regards to this.

Next cheapest is ASDA who are selling this for £44.97. Appears to be a bundle of sorts as well:

Add Call of Duty Black Ops on Xbox 360 or PS3, plus the Call of Duty Strategy Guide (378-6396) and the T-shirt of your choice in Medium (378-6291), Large (378-6298) or XL (378-6305)

I would imagine the price wars will heat up before xmas but whether there will be much significant difference is another thing.

I'll keep an eye out it the meantime.

All the supermarkets should be discounting this product hugely, but will only release their pricing in the day or so prior to release.
  • morrisons did medal of honour for £25 on day of release, i'm holding out for somthing similar this time round.

  • My husband always pre orders on Amazon and they have previously price matched to the super markets?! He paid full price up front (£45) for Fifa I think it was and when it came out it was a lot cheaper so they refunded him the money..!? This is my first post on here so I hope that's helpful...
