Car Insurance for DFW's!!!!!

Hi there...

Just a quick one. I renewed my car insurance today (i'm with Prudential) For my OH and me (27 & i'm 25) to drive a (pretty new) car for a year was £350... but i got them to put me through to a different department (apparently its called a retention dept) and they lowered it to £297!!!!!!

I think most companies have one and they so want to keep your business, i got some other quotes from other companies they were all about £400!!!

I thought this was fab and wanted to share it with all of you so you could maybe reduce your bill when your renewall comes too!!!:D

Sorry if you all knew already!!!:D

  • did u go thru quidco? £100 cashback for car ins with prudential.
  • Just insured my wifes car with pru....policy was £195 fully comp (mid 30's and small car - fiat punto). Then if the £100 cashback from quidco comes through this take it to £95 for the year at fully comp.

Also my car was £285 (£185 if casahback materializes) but is a larger car.

Thanks for this tip I was going to go along with my old insurers £372, put a quote in for the Pru and it went down to £333 with the cashback it will cost £233! My old insurers would not match it and their best offer was £364 - I don't think so!!!

There is a cancellation period on every policy... you could cancel it and then re-purchase it through quidco. Whether you want to is another matter... you'd have to go with whatever quote you get online (why not see what it comes up with?) and not get any special offers over the phone.

Note to everyone: insurance is one of the best things about quidco - huge cashback available!! Some people even get paid to be insured (as it were) if their policy costs less than the cashback they get! :)
