Telewest threaten with DCA, any help

I cancelled my telewest internet at the end of august and was told it was fine. I got a bill today for £85 saying they couldnt cancel my service as i hadnt paid septembers subscription although i was cancelling at the end of august. The thing is they have said theyve sent me letters and i know full well they havent. they said as of the 10th november it will be cancelled and past on to a dca. do i have a leg to stand on as they are charging me for another month before they cut me off so it will be about £100.

im sick of this company as they are pure muppets, has anyone had any experiences with these people in the past

    havent been in your situation but generally you have to give 30days notice to telewest to cancel the contract down so unless you have given this then they are quite within their rights to charge you for septs subscription

    Surprised you've had trouble with Telewest. I've always found them reasonably efficient and helpful.
    I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

    i understand i have to give them notice, but they said they would process it and then i will pay for september, i got told today that they did not complete my request as i hadnt paid for september although i rang at the end of august and they told me it would be fine. theyre telling me different things now or the person before never processed it but told me they had, also i had no bill during september
