Have paid £80 for a lady gaga ticket  and found out that I have keyhole surgery for gallbladder removal 2 days before. Anyone with any experience of how they felt 2 days after surgery and if sitting for the concert is doable? The consultant didnt think it would be a problem.

my mum felt awful after having her GB op.
You can change the date- phone the waiting list co-ordinators (or their equivalent in your area) and let them know that you cant make the offered date and ask for a new one- you dont have to say why, and f they ask all you need to do is say you already have prior commitments that you cant undoI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. I had the surgery in May of this year to get my gallbladder removed (still have my gallbladder but that is a whole other story!!!)
For the first few days after I was home I struggled to even open my eyes let alone go anywhere. I too was on strong painkillers which completely zonked me!!! I also struggled to sit for any period of time due to the stitches near my belly button.
Depending on how long you have been waiting and how keen you are to get the op you may want to consider getting the date changed.
Hope this helps0 -
Oh dear
I have been having a really bad time with attacks since June, and if i dont take this appointment, I may not get another one til December. I just want this sorted asap! its unfortunate that the timing is so bad.
Not looking very positive though. Will have to take it as it comes, the consultant reckoned plenty of people go back to work on a monday after a thurs op?0 -
i def recommend having the surgery asap, dont wait until dec. ur health is more important.
i was ok after about a week, but as im a vet nurse, this involves alot of heavy lifting. i had 2 weeks off0 -
Also you need to bear in mind that whilst it is planned to be key hole surgery, sometimes they may need to do a traditional cholesystectomy in some cases - sometimes things don't go totally to plan. You also need to consider that general anaesthesia takes up to a week to get out of your system so you are likely to feel very tired for several days after the procedure. You may also feel bloated and have lots of trapped wind.0

I had keyhole surgery for gallbladder removal over a year ago. I stayed overnight because I had my op quite late but in my personal experience I was really surprised with how okay I felt afterwards. On the way home I even went shopping lol. I am quite good with pain as a rule (I didnt use any painkillers afterwards) but was a bit sore and felt like I needed to hold my tummy a bit but generally I was fine. I think its different for everyone and unfortunately you wont know how your gonna be until to have had it done

The only thing that I would say is that its other people that you have to be careful of, 2 days after my op I was in tesco and a woman bumped me with her trolly and that hurt so I would imagine that a concert with people jostling around you would be a nightmare.0 -
I had keyhole surgery to remove my gall bladder. Out of hospital two days later. Four weeks off work. My main problems were getting out of a chair, doing ironing, bending down to pick anything up. I reckon with loads of painkillers you could sit through the concert. You won't be able to jump up and down and jiggle about, though!0
