If someone has 50% equity, they should sell the place and use the cash released to pay rent. Not expect taxpayers to go on paying for their mortgage for years to come. Possibly no more support after 1 year would be fair on all.0

But that is a different argument - ie that the state should not make any mortgage payments at all and expect people to sell their homes and use whatever equity they have to live off if they can not work. Or are you saying that those with no equity should have their mortgage paid but those who have not MEWed for holidays should get no support?If someone has 50% equity, they should sell the place and use the cash released to pay rent.
