I got the forms on the Friday and was in court the following Tuesday, I did put some hours in getting them finished in time. I would give the court a call and book it in (some operate a just turn up on the day system), maybe go two months time, you can change the date if you find the fees arn't quite there yet. Least then you've got a date your aiming for.
  • OK Guys thanks for the advice. Just printed the forms! Now all I need is the courage to give the court a call and book a date. I'm aiming for early Jan, maybe a bit earlier if I can juggle some funds together and get everything in order :)

Craig, honestly it's as easy as booking your tyres in to be changed, was going to say hairdressers but thought I should at least man up the imagery abit.

my only regret was....paying for several hours parking...and being out in under an hour!

Having thoroughly adopted the BR ethos at that point....I nearly cried!

:rotfl::rotfl:had to laugh at this Alistair, we did the same!

Paid for 6-8 hours on the ticket and was out in 2, and like you all I could think about was the waste of money :p

Good luck with it all Craig :)

I meant the phone call to book the date not the actually court day, just realised that sounded strange.

Everyone gets nervous about the court day, I felt really embarrased filing for BR whilst pregnant, I am having twins so I looked like I was nearly full term at 26 weeks, they got me a chair out and everything. They were very professional and kind to me. Although they probably wanted to avoid me giving birth and wrecking the carpet :)
  • Ha, glad it went so well for you ( and the twins ) :)

Im gonna have a chat with the missus now to put her mind at rest. Tempted to show her this thread :)

    good luck craig:)

i did the deed in september. i was terrified that i would mess the forms up but the lovely people on here helped me with filling them in quite easily (with a few migraines).

i couldn't wait so i paid no creditors for a month, wiped out my overdrafts and used that to pay the fees:o i did send all credit cards a token payment of £1 and a letter saying that my circumstances had changed and that i was paying them what i could afford. probably pointless but it made me feel 'better':o
