Managed to get a business account post BR with Barclays :-)

Hi all,
Just wanted to share some good news re opening a business account post BR which was previously thought nigh on impossible.
I had a meeting with someone at Barclays a couple of weeks ago with regards to opening a limited company account and mentioned that I had previously been bankrupt - she said it would have to go for authorization from the senior business team but that I'd hear in a few days.
Got a call a bit later that week to say that they'd opened the account and that cards etc were on the way!
It probably helped that I was already a customer (running my business through my cashcard account so they could see the business was doing well already) but I was very surprised when they came back and said yes.
They even gave me a business debit card and cheque book so it's definitely the full business account.
Just wanted to post my experience as I know a lot of you out there are trying to get business accounts so hopefully this will prove helpful for you
Cheers,
Chris

Excellent news well done

I reccomended Barclays to another BR a few days ago that was in exactly the same position, I have been with Barclays a few years there not so bad so far as banks go anyhow.........................
Word of warning though be careful with unauthorised overdrafts, I had 2 business account with them a couple of years ago and they were fantastic at letting the go overdrawn but the charges nigh on crippled me
ANyhow well done, onwards and upwards

congrats on getting business bank account, thats really encouraging to hear, may I ask how long ago you were discharged and are you sole trader or limited company?0

that's good to know hopeful, I was about to ask that very question as I need to open a business account - am discharged and run my personal acc with think, but they will not allow it to be used for sole trading - so am in a bit of a fix and was wondering who the best werre to apply to - I may try barclays but would love it if anyone else could advise me....0
