Boots OOTW Problem!

Just a warning be very careful when you get the gifts, i bought the Sancutary one on Sunday, last night i thought id have a nose at the goodies inside and the box is completely empty!!!

I never thought for one minute to check the contents as it wasnt a light box, but what now? Do i ring the store (it wasnt my local store) or customer services? I dont really know what to do

  • If it were me I would ring or go in to the store in the first instance with your receipt and explain that the box is empty - I would have thought they would replace or refund

Good luck - some s*ank has obviously nicked the contents
  • I had a similar problem with Wilkinsons when I accidentally picked up a display box for a Christmas tree. I carried it all round town and when I got home found the box was empty. I rang the store and they put another one aside for me to come in and collect. I should add it was only a very small tree which was why I suppose I didn't notice the lack of weight.

It may be you have done the same so I think I would give the store a ring and let them know what has happened. I found the phone number for the Wilkinsons store on the receipt so try looking on that first for the number.

Ill give them a ring, the box i picked was in the middle of a stack i went for that one as it was the only one that was in perfect condition. Im a bit of a freek and didnt want on that the edges where slightly marked. Im thinking along the display lines as i cant believe someone would take everything out of a box, but cross with boots for stacking the box with all the other boxes. This is typically my luck :( its 1/2 term this week so i have 3 under 5's at home so cant go to the store till the weekend
  • If the contents are missing they will offer you a refund or exchange, somebody has probably snaffled the contents as they didn't want to pay the price on the tag. Theres not alot customer services can do unless you bought online.

Just rang both CS and the store, just incase this happens to anyone else CS need to log it and give you a reference number which you then give to the store. Its a nightmare as the stores sold out, but they have told me after the offer has ran out they will be getting more instock at full price and to exchange it then. Ill have to pay £4.50 to park to swap it, will be checking everything i buy in future.
  • What rotten luck. It would never cross my mind the check the contents so thank you for the warning, I'll be more wary when buying gift boxes in the future, especially as I often shop for gifts in Boots. From what everyone has says it sounds like it won't be a problem to sort out but, unwanted stress and hassle for you.

Yes they will be getting more in as many weeks to Christmas yet so you should have no problem replacing it.
I have to say I am a pain with gifts I have to open up and see all is in tact, check all works, watch DVDs Listen to CDs so I know all will work and be 100% on the day.

I recently ordered three quite expensive gifts sets on line and when they turned up who ever had packed them placed heavy on light, crammed things in the box, torn outer cardboard sleeves, the bottom was hanging off a gift box. So annoyed as it all had to go back, but give Boots credit new items were returned within a few days. Just hoping the stuff I am waiting on (one item being the SS gift set) all arrive in tact.
Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.

This happened last year with some of the S&G hat boxes. I think it was more a factory packing fault as loads of boxes had the lipgloss missing. So its always worth checking.

I always make a point of checking everything's there when i'm chosing stuff. Especially during the sales when stuff goes walkies.
