Hi , please can somebody give me some advice, to put it as short as i can i am an NRP and have been paying maintenance via the csa for 9 years on the old system and never missed a payment.
After a major drop in income i have now been told that my payments have been dropped to nil and the case has been closed until there is a major change worthy of reopening the case.
My 2 main subjects needing advice are,
1. i still want to contribute financially but i am concerned my ex will deny the fact i give something off my own back so whats the best way of giving monies that can be traced for proof i gave money.
2. How will i stand with the csa now and in the future ??
thanks.

more likely PWC has closed the case and is waiting for 13 weeks and reapplying. you'll be on csa2 then, which means your rent etc will not be included.
i would put the money by for when the new MEF drops through the door.NEVER ARGUE WITH AN IDIOT. THEY'LL DRAG YOU DOWN TO THEIR LEVEL AND BEAT YOU WITH EXPERIENCE.
and, please. only thank when appropriate. not to boost idiots egos.0 -
Speedster - would that new case be backdated until the closure of the original one, or would it start when they make contact with the NRP?
If it would start again when they make contact, why not send £5 per week pocket money or something to your child - and make sure that your child knows you are sending them something. When it starts up again through CSA, you can simply advise that the money is now being sent to the other parent.0 -
if you have her bank details send via standing order to her, other wise send a money gram to her or something0

i thought that, but see NACSA CHAIR's post.
even when documented and sent via bank labelled as "child support payment" the PWC will have to admit it is for that purpose, otherwise the goons will class it as a gift and you'll get the pleasure of paying twice.
i'd just put the money away for when they next contact you.
they cant backdate it. will be valid from the date on the MEF.NEVER ARGUE WITH AN IDIOT. THEY'LL DRAG YOU DOWN TO THEIR LEVEL AND BEAT YOU WITH EXPERIENCE.

case has been closed for more than 13 weeks, ex seems to think thas it and is asking me for cash but dont trust her , i dont want to pay off my own back then watch csa ask for it again, dont want to not give anything but it seems safest fing to do is wait and save money and keep it myself until something happens , when that is going to be i dont know ??0

I would contact the finance department at CSA and ask them what is exactly is happening......you never know you may get a answer

How old are the children/is the child you are paying for?0 -

You only have to scan through the forum, to see many have been burn't that way, safest bet is to do everything via the official channels, at the end of the day, nobody is going to die from your actions in this episode :beer:0 -
Can you put some money into savings in the child's name in the short term until things are resolved? I would say DO NOT PAY THE PWC DIRECT - if a case is re-opened and she denies anything was paid then you will have to pay arrears for amounts you have already paid. In our experience the CSA seem to take the PWC word despite any evidence or paperwork to say the amounts paid were child maintenance.0

NO...NO..NO
You MUST NOT do that at all
If the csa are involved involved, you MUST NOT pay anything to the pwc because you will usually end up paying twice
Put the money aside and await contact from the csa0 -

.
Hi Speedster
Is that right? Fully documented payments are now no good in the eyes of the csa?0
