Glasses Frames?

I think this is probably the wrong place to be posting this, but I couldn't see anywhere obvious it would fit!
Basically, my boyfriend is in desperate need of a new pair of glasses, as his prescription has changed. BUT, he wants to keep the frames and just have the new lenses put in. Does anyone know anywhere that will do this?
Thanks for any help/suggestions!

I've had this done at SpecSavers every two years, for years on end.
They do it without question, apart from having to tell you about your glasses becoming unstable etc. But mine have been fine. Wear them all day everyday, and plonk them down anywhere
I know SpecSavers do BOGOF, but its not much of a bargin when they're 70 quid a throw. :eek:0 -
Thank you, that's an amazing help! I think he popped into Specsavers and they told him it wasn't recommended, but now he can go back and insist :-)
Forgot to say, do you have plastic or metal frames?0 -
My optician will do that. Not much use to you, of course! You could try contacting a few High Street opticians and asking - maybe email if poss?0

All the opticians I've used have done this, Boots, Specsavers, Haine and Smith, my prescription changed every six months so I've had it done lots. I think I've only had it done in metal frames though. They just warned me that they could only do it so many times.0

Hi, they appear to be metal.
I thought about this last night, and I remembered that when I had my first set of BOGOF, the year or so later, when I started driving, I had the second pair, made into sunglasses, just new lenses but darker.
Infact, just thinking about it, they even gave me the old lenses back, in case I changed my mind. They said that they "are my lenses so they had to give me them back" :T0 -
Specsavers do it for £19-50p per lens0

any of the high street places will do it. But you can also get it done from an online glasses shop - you post them in and they post them back to you once they are done. Much cheaper than highstreet stores and the same quality.
You can get the coatings that specsavers offer for £25 for £8 online that is an idea of the price difference. Obviously the lens price depends on how thick it is etc.It only takes a second to say 'Thanks, you just saved me a few quid!'

Specsavers say anything to get more money out of you.
I went in yesterday as my glasses broke and yes, they were snapped so that they would be difficult to fix but it was a definite no from them. A few drops of superglue and they're back on my face!
After the superglue had dried, of course...0
