                    Hi there,
I’m Tom. After I finished university, I found work here in the UK and settled over from Germany… where I’m from. I turn 30 in April next year – so does my wife who joined me and is also working.
Currently, we are thinking about a private pension scheme. We are not only looking for a provider who is somewhat stable and promises a good pension. Importantly, it should be a provider that operates in the UK and the Eurozone since we’re not sure yet if we stay in the UK for the rest of our working lives.
Has anybody advice here? For example: I came across Aegon and was wondering whether you could recommend this?
Thank you very much for your answers!
Best wishes,
Tom

I wouldnt be too bothered about whether they have a european arm as if you transferred them later under QROPS it would involve a brand new contract even if you used the same brand.
Aegon, for example, is known more commonly as Scottish Equitable in the UK. I know they are now dropping the Scot Eq name but they will have no dealings with other Aegon branded companies in Europe.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). You'd also need to know how a UK personal pension is taxed under German trust and tax law over the years before you start withdrawing money.0
