I've spent just over £150 already on my 7 year old daughter - but most of that has been half price/reduced/on sale - would definitely be a lot MORE (not less
) if everything had been full price!!!:eek: Over half of that was on one thing though, a new Nintendo DS (£80) so not as bad as it first sounds... :rotfl:
Still have a few bits left to get, definitely no more than another £50 though, regardless of what I see! Don't normally go so mad but it's her last Christmas as an only child, so I wanted to spoil her rotten before she has to share
Please don't judge me - I know Christmas isn't about how much you spend but this is how I wanted to do it for onceAll horses deserve, at least once in their lives, to be loved by a little girl.

Trying to get away with £50 between the 2 of my boys. They get far too much from other people, so have decided to put a couple of hundred pounds into our holiday pot for Florida next year.
Most of my relatives will be getting handmade, things this year, Kitchen Organisers, decorated pegs; sweet bags; handmade cookies etc, so am hoping to spend no more that £300 on all the presents I am giving this year.2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family. It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,0000 -
We've already bought DS1 a PS3 and 3 top games, so you can guess an approx amount for that, DS2 has got a few little presents but thats about it at the minute, still got a long list of things i know they want so waiting for prices to drop/sales. I know how much we spend as I keep a spreadsheet, but i think what the individual family spends is upto them and what they are used to spending.
We admittedly made a rod for our own backs with our boys especially DS1, but if we can comfortably afford it and his appreciation of his belongings, gifts and manners are still well kept then we're all happy.0 -
Its easier for me to show what I have bought, I havent paid full price for anything on this list and forgot to write the price I paid down so im not sure, I wold ahzard a guess at about £150 - £200 tho.

I obviously have got more bargains for my dd than either of my boys, BnM have some brilliant THomas the tank engine sets and add on parts that Ds1 will love so getting them this week (I think they totalled £65) and Ds2 is getting the rest of his from Boots this Thursday where I will have to pay full price but im taking advantage of the bonus advantage card points offer thats on Wednesday and Thursday, I will be checking sainsburys half price toy sale first tho just incase. I still have 2 Dsi's to buy for the eldest two as well but thats me (apart from the Christmas Eve hamper). We are the only ones who really buy for our kids, everyone in the family just gives them money which we save for them and give them so much throughout the year until its gone iyswim. If the family bought them toys I wouldnt buy them as much iyswim. Next year the twins will be here so im planning on getting their xmas presents in the Boots 75% off sale and hopefully a lot of Ds2's as well which leaves just the bigger two to buy for later in the year.Mummy to Leeland 5, Lakota 4, Lennox 1 and expecting non id twins March 2011.0 -
i have proberly spent £60-£70 each on mine, some stuff in sales etc and some was bought with doubling up my clubcard vouchers too, may get a few more little things each but not much. They get lots of stuff from other people and we are already running out of room to put things so im not spending money just for the sake of it

i think when i'm finished, up to maybe £300 each for my two kids, the older they get, the more expensive they get.!! i don't necessarily spend the same on each one, as long as their piles look about the same thats ok. We always buy a lot for each other in our family, because we don't have any relatives, except my mam and dad, and oh's sister.0

Thats not looking bad at all! I haven't included stocking fillers yet and have a few more bits and pieces to get so I guess its going to come in at around £100 each which I don't think is bad.
I don't see any harm in spending lots of your children as long as they are grateful and appreciate it. My daughters are 5 and 2, so the eldest is starting to understand the value of things a bit more now. But as a parent I can't wait until christmas comes around to spoil my girls rotten!
When I was growing up my parents didn't have much money but at christmas time they would save all year and go all out to spoil us rotten, to be honest they still do spoil us all. It never did us any harm at all.Debt free wannabe

I have been very money neutral this year and have managed to get some amazing bargains.
For DD (18 months) I have spent around £20 so far on rrp £160 of toys etc which sounds like she has got alot but not really when you pile them up. We have got her ELC wooden push along 'truck' - pink, Waybuloo talking Lau Lau, smal Waybuloo playset, ELC jungle beats, ELC play mobile and key set, ELC bag for life with playfood, Yippity yey talking walking jess, some dvds and a couple of stocking fillers.
Need to buy a few more stocking fillers and two more main presents and some PJ's and we will be done with her presents.
Sold a few things on ebay which has covered this cost so 'technically' freeComping wishlist for 2017
