RE: Capquest sold my details to Mackenzie Hall

I received a phone call today from mackenzie hall, a rather pleasent debt collection agency. It appears that capquest has sold a debt to them. This is the same debt that I disputed with capquest, sent of my £1, and have still not received the documents that prove the original loan agreement. The only thing I got back from Capquest was a fruadulent letter from a different bank I owe money to.

Now, do I just totally ignore mackenzie hall as in 5 days Capquest will be in default themselves for not providing the documents that show the original loan agreement. Or do I have to send mackenzies hall the same letter? Can mackenzie hall do the same as capquest and sell the debt on before they default.

To be honest I dont think capquest could get the documents, hence why they sold it on. So I dont think manckenzies hall can either. However I dont want to be sending letters of every month for the rest of my life until I have written to every debt collection agency in the world. Surely if mackenzie hall do the same thing as capquest I dont even have to acknowledge any further debt collection agencies taking up the baton?

    Poor you,
You seem to be the target of two of the most despicable Debt Collection Agencies in the UK - Have a look through at all the other threads, on this forum, about Mackenzie Hall and Capquest.
Also, check the guidelines on the OFT website.
In my opinion it is totally out of order to refer any debt which is in dispute to a DCA.
Dispute any debt to Mackenzie Hall - looking at past threads they will not provide you with a true copy of the original credit agreement.
If CRAPQUEST are unable to supply you with copy of the original agreement within the 28 days, then it will be extremely difficult for them to pursue any claim.

It makes me laugh so much that Capquest are affectionately known as Crapquest on these boards - that tells you pretty much all you need to know about them!

Not sure where you would stand if the debt just continues to be sold on (and on, and on....), but I would dispute it again with Mackenzie Hall, just to cover your back.

    Good luck!

    Hi ya,

Just dispute it. I wonder if Crapquest and Mackenzie Hall are just the same company with two different names?

Plus try not sending with the £1 (ie don't waste your money on them), still send it recorded delivery.
