I've been thinking about an IVA and I logged on to IVA debt forum, I thought that it may give me some balanced views. It seemed to just promote IVAs for a person called Melanie Giles and a few others. Now we all know the power of the internet but to trawl for business in this way seems to be a bit below the belt. I noted that when a couple of people tried to start a debate about the negative side of IVAs and let's face it I want to know this too, those posts were immediatly removed . There were posts from people who seem to just rant with very questionable knowledge using all sorts of nasty language. It seemed like a totally contrived IVA advertising set up. I tried posting myself as an experiment and hey presto I was locked straight out. Is this just a cheap n nasty marketing excercise and should it be legal?. I mean FORUM means debate dos'nt it. Anyone else experience of this?

well it wasn't a criticism more an observation, one person's experience isn't ever a judgement, mine or your's , and needs to balance against the general view. But it dosn't hide the evidence that this 'forum', unlike here does not allow debate at all, it's totally supportive of all IVAs and will not look at any other veiw . I just don't think it should be called a forum if it isn't one. I would just like to know if it is just an accepted norm to look for business this way. There was a company called IVA watchdog and they were closed down for a variation of this type of behaviour. People in debt should not be a cheap source of income whilst they are looking for information0

just to explain i found lots of different for and against iva articles here all debate (mind you I'm still confused) and then I see this obvious IVA Trap masquerading as a forum. Don't want to cause a row just asking you folks all seem to have a little thing going here that i really don't understand!0

well for starters you posted on the bankruptcy forum NOT the IVA one

sorry it did say iva forum , i think best advice is to stay away from all forums as they're either iva lobster pots or precious sounding cliques. I'm sure the answer must be out there!0

IVA forum is a sub-board of the BR forum....
I have just taken a sample peek at random.......not that I'm that interested in IVA's, but it does seem as if they tolerate some critiscm. No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -
My point is it's not about what they tolerate, is it an open forum or a fly trap? I've been getting friends also to try to register asking meaning ful IVa questions. After one posting they're denied access and then the posting disappears. If they are so happy with the product why do they do this ? It's making me think they have issues they don't want discussed. It's given me 2nd thoughts.0
