NR buildings insurance penalty fee

Hi

I have had a northern rock together mortgage since Dec 2006.

My question is, when i took out the mortgage on my leasehold maisonette, i was charged £25 for not taking my buildings insurance with NR. As the mortgage was for a leasehold property for which the buildings insurance is included in the monthly service charge, there was no way i could take out their buildings insurance so the penalty was unavoidable. This £25 was just added to my mortgage. I just wondered if anyone had any experience of people claiming this back, or whether these charges were fair or unfair. Is it worth me asking for this to be refunded? I know its only £25 but it was more the principle really.

Thanks

Carl
