E-ON 'Powerdown' plug for computers

Had one of these plugs, but as changed to laptop it was redundant.
So used with the TV instead - TV plugged into master socket and DVD player & aerial booster into peripheral sockets.
Worked like a dream for several months. Then last night it didn't. Thought the TV had gone wrong, but no indicator lights on booster etc so pulled out the E-on plug, and plugged TV straight into wall socket and all OK.
OH was going to change fuse in the E-on plug, but I wondered if there is any reason NOT to use this plug with a TV as opposed to a computer?
I'm sure someone must know the answer to this, thanks in advance.

I don't see any reason not to use it so long as whatever is in the slave sockets can stand just having the power dropped regularly.
Of course that doesn't mean there isn't a reason.....0
