Do ex parners searches effect me?
My ex partner and I still have a mortgage and joint account together until end of this month when I buy him out and will then pay off the mortgage and close the joint account.
In the meantime whilst I cannot see his credit accounts on my Experian details I can see the amount of searches he has done since May and the total is 8. I wonder why his searches record in my experian details but not the accounts?
Will his volumous amount of searches ( in his name only ) effect me?
Thanks

The simple answer is no. Those searches are only there to show you when a lenders has seen your credit report as a result of your ex applying for credit. These 'associate searches' will not affect your creditworthiness. You are not allowed to see your ex's personal credit account records, but while you remain financially connected your lenders can. Once your joint account is closed, let Experian know and they will cut the link between you and your ex on your credit report.
