Just found this one, which I think is my current fave:

Edit: When I was a kid, all I wanted was an A La Carte Kitchen, but my evil mum wouldn't buy me one:

    I never got the much-wanted Big-Yellow-Teapot either...

I looked at the Ikea one, but it seems to be a bit too utilitarian for my taste...

    The accessories look great though.

I love the accessories too, but I don't imagine they'll stay looking pretty, arranged on the kitchen for long! :D

I love the Little Tykes one now - and Little Tykes stuff seems to last really well. I have a 13 year old LT rocker sitting in the garden in perfect condition.

  • If you're looking at any of the KidKraft kitchens I have to say I think they will be beautiful. I have recently had delivered one of their wooden dollshouses and its lovely. Very well made, think it'll last years! When opened I found one item slightly damaged so I emailed them and within 5 mins had a reply, and by 7 days had received the replacement. Great customer service too!

  • We were wondering whether to get our 15 month old daughter a toy kitchen. The only problem is that we're totally open plan downstairs, and she's forever getting told 'no' for playing with our range cooker. Would we be actively encouraging her to play with the big one if we get her a toy version?????

Suzanne, I think it might be easier to send her back to her own toy kitchen if she had one with reminders that the big cooker is "hot".

I'm another one in favour of the Ikea one. You can add all the bells and whistles you want to make it less utilitarian :)

  • Yeah, that's a good idea; luckily the doors on the range don't get too hot (obviously developed with little people in mind), but she's turned temps up and down whilst cooking!!!! Bless her, she's only being inquisitive, and dials are a big temptation for her! Sending her to her own probably is the way to go! Thanks!

LOL my daughter's done the same thing, she's almost the same age as yours - I've always used the stove top as bonus counter space but now she has figured out that dials are fun I can't leave anything on there in case she sets it on fire.

Having said that, I have a baby jail (travel cot) in the kitchen so she can safely observe us cooking and see how it's done. I've already had her using the nut chopper (a sealed jar with a push-down button that moves the blades) from inside the baby cage, I think it's great to teach her to help safely.
