My computer (dell ) is not recognising any usb device. My external drive, my memory sticks and my photos that i put on last night are not showing up. I have photos from 2002 on my external drive and although i have backed up most of them, the ones from the last month of a new great grandson and daughter were not backed up. I'm devastated to think i might have lost them.
Can anybody help me.

if this is a (very) recent problem, try a system restore to a few days back = prior to problem.0

Start > right click My Computer (or Computer) > properties > device manager
Are there any yellow indicators?
If not, it sounds like either every USB device you own has experienced some form of War of the World's conk out and have just stopped being detectable as a USB device (more unlikely than pigs flying) or your USB ports either aren't booting, or being detected, which isn't too tough to fix. Try the first thing for now though0 -
always keep 2 copies at least of everything important on different devices, and use dvd's as well. try it in another pc, has anything changed since it last worked, eg installed anything?!!
