data protection file.....what now?

morning all!after some advice. We have received hubby's data protection file from csa,it is about a foot thick!i have tried to trundle through it all,but what should i be looking for?there is a letter from hubby years ago asking to pay £10 a week or month off arrears, and a note on the file saying 'not accepted'.

we have a log of payments printed from the computer which shows his debt at £1700 in 2000,but they are claiming he owes more?

there is also a part which says 'suspended debt' £5000.please help i am in utter confusion!no wonder theyve got it so wrong, there is so much bloody paperwork!

we are disputing arrears on the account and were contemplating letting the nacsa do a full audit for £150...what do you think?

so the question is,where do i start/go from here?thanks

oooh also we have had full account breakdowns done by csa at falkirk, but none of these are in the file?or any of their notes that they made in relation to this? does that mean they have missed things out?

also, there is a child on there who we have never heard of saying that hubby was entitled to pay maintenance 26/03/2000 and entitlement ended 27/03/2000?i dont understand!he says he has never heard of this child and csa have never mentioned him before.it also says the childs dob.

there is also info about the pwc...her dob, address, full name, money she was earning at the time.

If you have the original audit ther is stuff missing as there was in my file. I would start writing asking them to explain the mysterious child.
If it is Falkirk that had your case your going to need all the help you can get.
If your husband has been paying regular with an accepted arrears payment then they shouldn't add on the suspended debt.
But as I said it's Falkirk

    Good luck

falkirk escalated complaints were dealing with it to sort out alleged arrears as we had been waiting for four years for them to do an account breakdown.we then informed our mp,who wrote to them twice as they still werent doing it!they said he owed £11000 arrears but by providing proof and disputing, this has been whittled down to £3000(this is in the space of a month!).it has also been dealt with by bolton, stockport, northern ireland, norwich amongst others.

thing is,i really dont know what to do, what to look for, or anything!
do i write to data protection office stating my queries?

You mentioned another child was this child getting paid for by your husband. Go back to the dp unit and query the missing stuff but if you go through personal notepad at the date mp has written in etc there may be a line asking for account breakdown that hasn't been actioned

just an update, called them today and asked where the files were from falkirk and he said that they have had two more files delivered friday and they will be copied tomorrow and sent out. I told him to check they included what falkirk had done and he said he would.I also questioned about this other child and he said 'oh dear, thats not good'...'perhaps he was added on mistakenly'. He said he will find out and include it in the letter he sends with the remaining files.

i know.well i guess its ok then if someone elses child's details are on hubbys csa file....it was a mistake, all forgiven...NOT!what incompetent wazzocks!
i have paperwork about 3inches thick saying he owes no arrears, then he owes £1700...dating 2002.so in eight years they are telling me that he has not paid off £1700?grrr i will wait to get this other file and see what that contains and then make my move on them, producing all the evidence i have.

i also have a copy of a breakdown from 2009 saying he only owes £200. so frustrating.
