Where to start! Help!

Hi all, i thought i was doing so well and now its all just gone totally t*ts up!!:o

So luckily i have cupboards/freezer full of food although have gone 90 odd quid over what i have wanted to spend this month on food but should only need milk this week.

All bills due 1st/2nd of month. These total £120.68. I also pay £35 gas and electric weekly (this is to catch up with arrears) £15 to one debt and £15 to other both weekly. My car tax is due and realistically can't afford 12 months so will have to be 6months (£130). I owe a friend £70. Owe my sons nursery £150  , Both my daughters have trips coming up totalling £29, i need a new tyre. Got 5 birthday and 2 christening presents to buy, £25 for nintendo Wii thats been fixed and i want to set up asap as a Virgin Vie consultant which is £49.50 (feel this is important as need to generate extra income). Meant to be having my hair cut and coloured as well next week at a cost of nearly 90 quid. I know this will freak some people out but i LOVE my hairdresser and how she does my hair...don't want to compromise on this but may have to move appointment.
I have saved with Park for x-mas but did fall behind a bit but this will still cover alot what i want to buy (and i have bought some) but i still am worrying.
Anyway i feel completely overwhelmed and would love some advice as where to go from here, how to prioritise and get back in control instead of being controlled. Thankyou.xx

    Hi there :hello:

Try not to panic (easy said than done i know)

Youve said when your bils go out but not said if you have any payments coming in before then? Can the Virgin Vie go on hold for a couple of months?

Food seems fairly sorted (this month is 5 weeks long remember so most people will have gone over budget....including me :rotfl:)

Ask the friend if they can wait till next month sure they will then pay them 35 per month?

Wait till next month for the hair to cover the girls trips!!Surely hair cant be that bad

    Lots of hugs to you

  • Hi there,

I had to leave my lovely (but expensive) hairdresser and was absolutely terrified, but it actually turned out really well!!

I hadn't changed my hair for ages but my new hairdresser has made great suggestions and I now have very different hair which I absolutely love (never thought I could get away with a frings but it really suits me!)

I found my new place by asking around and went the first time just to see what it was like. I told myself if it turned out badly I could always go back to my old hairdresser and ask her to fix it. But - hooray - that wasn't necessary and I now pay £26.50 a time instead of £55.

The only downside is I don't really 'click' with my new hairdresser so we don't chat that much while she's cutting my hair, but I think that's just a small price to pay!

So why not ask around to see where other people go and how much they pay - what have you got to lose?!

Good luck with it all! x x

not sure if you live near a local city, but I've never paid more than a fiver to have my hair cut. I know in leeds on gumtree they are offering free cuts, on upmystreet i think it was it is free cuts and colours and theres several other ones. GHD do free styling sessions, HD are doing free hair cuts as well as many other places so it might be worth shopping around as you can definately get it cheaper (even going to the local village instead of town can help as I know I have my hair permed for £50 at home whereas in Leeds it would be at least double and then some more). For the Virgin Vie can't you pay it with your first few orders, as thats what they did with Avon

Take a look at www.blackcircles.com (through www.topcashback.com) for your tyre - presume car tyre? I saved quite a bit when I had to get 2 new ones last year. You need your tyre specifications, enter details online, the site quotes you prices depending on which tyre you want, then a list of local garages to fit it. Simples :)

Wow thanks everyone. Definitely need to do an SOA. How do i do this? Have money at end of week so its not like I've got nothing but just had a freak out moment!! Going to postpone hairdressers for sure but she is also a friend hence another reason why I don't want to go anywhere else although i guess there are ways round that!! Postponing hair will pay for trips and Virgin Vie which I'm going to do as need some more income.
Definitely going to check out tyres and will get that fitted for free by my RAC man brother!!

Natty - If she is a friend maybe you could come up with an out of work deal?

She could come do your hair round your house or you go to hers the price will be cheaper but she will get 100% of the money whereas through work they will take a % from what you pay!
