Any advice from a mortgage advisor/ifa?

I have been going through my financials and am finding it hard to understanding it all and would be very grateful if someone could give me any advice or simplify it all as I have lost the plot trying to work things out. I am also minded to remortgage to get a better deal but going on-line does not give me the option to put my details in regarding the mortgage being part repayment/part endowment.
I have a mortgage as follows:-
£96,020.26
It is broken down as follows:-
Mortgage £35,651.08 - interest only (this is covered by a policy with Standard Life ends 2013 shortfall of £10,000)
Mortgage £12,080.53 repayment (remaining term 10 yrs)
Secured loans £50,610.76 repayment (remaining terms 9-10 yrs)
I have with Windsor Life life assurance at £42 per month.
I have two Legal & General policies:-
Decreasing Term assurance without profits joint life, first death. (ends 2019) £42.18 monthly and a term assurance without profits £9,220 £12.85 monthly (ends 2019).
My questions are:-
1. Are the Legal & Gen policies only life assurance meaning they are only good if one of us dies or are these endowments too?
2. Would remortgaging get me a better deal I am currently with Northern Rock on their standard variable rate?
If someone out there could give me a little direction or advice I would be very grateful as I am finding it very hard to get my head round all this. Hope someone can help?
