Pay off some of mortgage, or wait?

A friend of mine has asked my advice as she has just had a good result on her investment bonds. She wants to know if it's a good time to pay off most of the mortgage, or should she re-invest, bearing in mind that interest rates may go up & her mortgage package ends next year. Her husband is also considering early retirement. What should I tell her?

Yes.
OR
- what did she get on the investment bonds?
- what sort of investment were they?
- what's the mortgage interest rate?
- how much left and how long for?
- what pension arrangements do they have?
etc etc
Many more facts are needed.0
