Car and BR...

Guys,

Just looking for a bit of assistance with this one...

Over the summer I was declared sequestrated (BR in Scotland).

I had my meeting, and due to circumstances, agreed to pay £35 a month from my very basic self employment income.

My only assets at the time were:

1- My oldish Transit Van (5q plate with 167000 miles on clock) - I use this for work, they told me they were not interested.

2- My oldish Audi A6 (Xreg). They believed they could get equity from that (doubt it as it had no spare wheel, MOT running out, bashed wing, needed four new tyres and exhaust!). I surrendered the car to them and have been informed it has now been sold.

At the time I argued that I needed a car as well to enable me to take my children to and from my ex, and to school and activities. Their argument was that I had a choice between van an car.

Surely, I am entitled to a vehicle suitable for the transport of my four children - How can I take four kids in a three seater van - a work tool?

Do you think I am right?

Is there some kind of appeal to recover some of the car value?

Thanks

G

This is going to sound heartless, but your private life has nothing to do with your financial one. Therefore they do not take into account why you need a vehicle unless its for work or to get to work (unless you have a really nice OR!)

There isn't any come back on this one; you've let the car go and signed it over now.

Any chance of asking your ex to bring/collect the kids from yours and you give her some petrol money for helping you out?
