Hi,
I'm hoping to make some Cranberry Gin again this year but I want to get started as soon as possible as I would like to send it as a gift for Christmas.
Does anyone know if fresh Cranberries are available in any supermarkets yet? If not, any idea when they will appear?
Thanks
EB

The earliest i've seen them in supermarkets is December, but i was in Julian Graves this afternoon and they had bags of dried cranberries 1/2 price (i think). Presumably they would swell when covered with gin anyway so perhaps that might be an idea?Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Unfortunately they need to be fresh (or frozen, I guess) as you need the juice from then to flavour the gin.I enjoy a pint of beer each night for it's health benefits. The other pints are for my witty comebacks and flawless dance moves.0 -
Hmm, I may be wrong (hopefully someone will correct me if I am) but I wouldn't have though now was the right season for cranberries as all the other similar berries like redcurrants have been and gone. I suspect any you can buy now will be imported, so when they will be available in the shops depends more on demand than seasonality.Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0

October is peak Cranberry season so you might see some soon. Marks and Spencer usually have them early but its not very OS0
