    Also remember to google your username if you use the same one for registering when you comp, some sites list winners by their username.

    You can also set up google alerts to send you an e-mail whenever it finds anything mentioning your name/username & the term win/winner/competition or any other term you choose to search for.

    Search 'google alerts' to take you to the set up page.

    I've just googled my name with "Miss Initial Surname" and found a load of letters I've written for work which must have been subject to Freedom of Information requests and published on the net!! I'll have to write neater in future!

    Also someone with the same name as me won a big GMTV cash win last year.....hope that doesn't scupper my chances thinking it may be the same person :(
