that was then.....this is now

I thought I would list what my outgoings were when I started MSE and what they are now - cant believe the savings I have made with help from MSE.

MONTHLY OUTGOING THEN NOW CASHBACK

Mortgage £305.00£231.00
Buildings & contents Insurance 22.42£22.62£110.00
Gas & Electric £44.00 £40.00 12.50
Phone, Broadband & TV £40.00£37.50
Food £310.00 £125.00
Mobile £20.00 £10.00
Gym £29.95 £25.00

TOTAL £771.37 £491.12

I have also changed bank account to A&L which means I have a free overdraft but have paid that off anyway and got £90.00 cashback. I have also claimed unfair bank charges and got £725.00 back. I even won £48.00 last week on the free £5 NOTW bingo.

I know its a bit nosey but how much has anybody else out there saved
I LOVE MSE !!!

you dont always have to wait for the renewal dates - check you policy. I didnt have to for mine and changed them both before their renewal dates. Go for it Mrs Sparkle :T

    Well done!

I saved £25 a month by changing my mobile contract, plus 3 months half price.

I've managed to reduce shopping bills (food, toiletries, cleaning etc) from £100 a week (2 adults + 2 kids at weekends) to £35 a week :j

Think there could be more cut backs to come though on those bills - not introduced OH to stardrops yet and still more OS stuff to try! :D

Plus I don't spend £3 a day on lunch at work (bring my own lunch and occasionally buy 40p pack of biscuits if it's a bad day).

I don't go clothes shopping anymore, unless its primark, asda, charity shop.

My biggest change... I'm selling stuff on ebay that I love but can easily do without (eg my beloved boots I haven't actually worn in a year!!).

Oh and this site helped me realise that I DO have enough jewellery and shoes!! :D
Newlywed at the point I joined the forum... now newly separated
