Westcott Financial Services wont tell me why they are so interested in me

I had a phone call early yesterday evening from a company called Westcott Financial Services who left me a voicemail saying."Can I Please contact them asap regarding a personal matter".

Anyway today around 9am they called me back and asked me to confirm my address name ect.reluctant I said wait a minute you called me? who are you 1st and what do you want, his reply was he cant tell you until I confirm my address and post code.So I told him then he said ooo ok erm. have you allays lived at this address.I said yea why and now will you tell me what you want?

He then replied we have a different address on file for you I will need to look into it further and il give u a ring in a few days and then hung up with out even so much as a bye:mad:


Any one know what all this is about?

at a guess they are "fishing".

They may be looking for someone with the same name and have traced your details which is why he said they had another address.

Debt collectors do this frequently by searching various public data records to try and trace people.

If this happens again, never disclose any information. If they know, they don't need to ask.

hello im new to this site but i have been getting calls the last 4 days from an 01482 483251 i ring it back and it says it is westcott fimancial services they do not leave voicemails and when i call it back they say i cant call on that number and somebody will ring back. I am unaware of this company i do not have anyh debt and ;pay my credit card every month i have a mortagage to. Can anybody help, i have read other site and people say that these are a rogie company

If they call again, ignore them - giving these companies the time of day on the phone is not at all advised. Besides, if they feel it's not important enough to put into writing, then it's also not important enough to discuss on the phone.

On the other hand, you could make Westsnot squirm by mentioning the Beryl Brazier case.
