High Hopes Dashed

I got in from work on Wednesday to find a missed parcel note that was left as the parcel wouldn't fit through the letterbox.
Oh the excitement I felt, was it an ipad ( Pleeease!!! ) an iphone??
24 hours later, after getting my DH to run me to the sorting office, I picked up a cardboard tube containing a dead twig :(
Apparently my baby tree from an Andrex comp.
My DH hasn't stopped laughing since
Oh well, better luck next time :)

I too received a dead twig but thankfully was spared the suspense of having to go to the sorting office as postie delivered it through the cat flap:o

Hope an iphone/ipad turns up for you soon:)

That was disappointing and usually the sort of thing that happens to me. A few weeks ago I was on the Glenfiddich website (dont know if anyone has done it but you go round and spot some clues and at the end you click on a barrel and you might win a prize and are entered into a prize draw). Anyways, I admit I didnt read the t's and c's but assumed it was a daily so have entered it a few times as it is so easy to enter and I always entered it with the same details, and only once a day for about four days on and off. Was lucky enough to win a tasting box of whiskeys a few weeks ago (my first win as a newbie) and had to wait several days before they emailed me confirmation but was delighted. Having not done it for a few days thought I would try my luck again a couple of days ago and was delighted to be awarded a pair of tasting glasses which would have gone nicely with the whiskey. To cut a long story short sent them an email thanking them for the win and got one back to say they would not give it to me as only one prize per promotion period. Each time I have entered it has told me to come back and they will have some new prizes in the next promotion and a letter came to that effect with the whiskeys I had won so its a bit confusing.... Also when you enter it gives you a chance to enter the prize draw for a holiday so have emailed them asking does this mean your prize draw entries are null and void as well? Why dont they get software as a lot of comps that does not allow multiple entries so that would clear up the confusion???? In the letter I got with the whiskey it actually tells me to come back and look around again.......
  • Received my dead twig this morning. I stuck it in a glass of water, hoping for a miracle. Hubs had a major laugh at my expense. He said, "Oh, well, if it doesn't revive, we can always smoke it!" :)

  • It won't be dead - just no leaves for winter.

If you plant it out it'll be fine.
Not really comping any more as too ill - but hoping to win £1000+ in 2017 in cash prizes - watch this space!

    Dead twig here too :rotfl:

I went out and caught the postie leaving our street. I asked if he had anything for me too big for the letterbox. He passed me the tube and said I should destroy the red card he left. Can you imagine the suspense until Monday before I could pick it up
