Just a quickie Child's bank account

Hi all, just a quickie my little one aged 7 came home from school with an application form for the school bank {HSBC} and you get a little red money box to save in when you open an account. Which of course she wants..etc..all her friends have one.....etc...:)

How would this stand with being undischarged ? or discharged for that matter. Would she be allowed to open one? Obviously I would have to be a signatory, I have searched the t&c's to no avail,
any ideas?

    Hi Minicooper.

I hate to say it but I do recall reading here (cant find the thread sorry) that someone was having real difficulty opening a childs saving account.
I really want one for my kids and I just remember being put right off ...and thinking I would tackle it another day.

Its a bummer as you don't expect your bankruptcy to impact on your childs ability to have a bank account!

Anyway, sorry I'm not helping at all as I am so vague.. it may be different for you as the bank are looking to get childrens account, I hope it is.

Not sure about HSBC but I was able to open accounts for both my children with the Yorkshire bank whilst undischarged.

Might be worth calling them and seeing what they say.
