Hi everyone
I have a big family do soon (10 people) with limited space. I was wondering if you reckon it would be ok to make mashed potato and then to put in the slow cooker to keep warm?
If it works I thought it'd be good for Xmas and useful for veg too!
Many tanks for any help/advice

I`ve never done this but i know that some models have a keep warm option so if yours has that then it should be ok.
Mine only has low as the lowest setting and i think that it would be ok for a couple of hours at the most, it depends on how long you need to keep it warm for i think.
Would keeping it in a large pyrex bowl covered with foil wrapped in a towel help? You could always take the foil off and nuke it in the microwave for a few minutes before you served it.

Hi, I can't think why it wouldn't be OK as long as you don't leave it for too long? I did a curry night a couple of months ago and so I could get ahead with the cooking, I put the Chicken Madras in the slowcooker on 'warm', then took the whole unit through to the dining room so people could help themselves while it kept hot. It seemed to work fine.....it wasn't in there that long as they were like gannets & scoffed it!2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!0
