There is no specific length of time given. The DDA code of practice and the new legislation say reasonable adjustments should be imlemented in a timely fashion. There are so many different adjustments that can be made so the length of time will depend on what the adjustment is. ie some can be put into place straight away such as extra breaks, shorter day, altered hours etc. Some may take longer such as a specilaist chair for which assessment is needed then ordering etc.
It will be down to the worker, employer and, if necessary the tribunal to decide if the length of time the worker had to wait was reasonable. Also, delay in providing the adjustments can be seen as a failure to provide the adjustments.
The employer must also consider the risk to the worker's condition and the impact on the workers capacity if left without adjustments for a period of time.
