I really want to make a heart garland or something similar for a special gift for someone whos really helped me out recently.
I want it to be home made and something which is pretty but not 'too' home made looking!
quite a specification but there are always amazing people on here who make things look easy! and fab items!!
200522385387 seen these on ebay and wondered how I could decorate...? I havent bought any yet so if theres others which are better happy to have any ideas...but I like the idea of using about 5 to make a hanging garland and possibly using wire or ribbon?
Ive seen 'shop bought' ones where they are painted but Ive tried that with other things and never really been that impressed with them...so any ideas...? I did wonder about painting two shades and using sandpaper to get a layered effext...or I could use fabric...?
Has anyone made anything similar..? or seen any sites selling them where I could possibly steal the ideas?
Thanks in advance

Would they be big enough for what you wanted to do? You could paint them in a magnolia/off white and snad the edges to give a rustic look and then do some stenciling on them maybe?Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0

I have bought wooden letters for CHRISTMAS garland I plant to pain them first then put scrapbooking paper on then sand the edges to get the shabby look. I will then seal it all with probably Mod Podge. This is where I got my idea from http://vintageamethyst.blogspot.com/2009/12/more-christmas-decor.html
I also like this simple garland http://public.thertc.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=20_67&products_id=265

Thanks very much
Rusty I think you are right as I have just realise that they are small although I noticed they do bigger ones so will have a look at the bigger ones
Sethsgran - Thanks for those as all are perfect! got loads of ideas now and love the idea of paper and sanding but noticed a few painted with spots on which look effective
