God I despise Sports Direct and everything that they represent. They buy out failing companies that (used to) produce quality items (like Karimor) then reproduce their products in China, at about 10% of the quality, then say "50% off" all over them. Well it's not 50% off as the product is completely different.0

You also have to fight your way past hundreds of chavs in Lonsdale trainers, tracksuit pants and t-shirts just to get to the counter.0 -
i saw the investigation about sports direct a few months ago, about the child labour and the 70% off labels put on the product AT POINT OF MANUFACTURE!
really, it ws just like zoolander, they buy from countries outside the rules on child labour and work laws to get the cheapest, crappest product.Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000
current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)
new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,0000 -

I didn't see that documentary but what you're saying comes as no surprise to me whatsoever. These 'huge reductions' don't actually exist - they simply remake the product put a "II" after the name of it so that they can say the RRP is, say £70, then sell it at £20 and make out they are doing everyone a favour. For me they are simply sullying the name of what used to be decent brands. In addition they've completely priced all the independent sports shops out of the market, so for decent sports items I now have to go online.0 -
I have to throw my weight behind the 'hate Sports Direct' campaign. They really have destroyed the high street. I believe that they were recently reported to the OFT by Dave Whelan (of JJB) as well.
From top to bottom they seem like a rotten company to me. Keep your 69p in your pocket!!!!0 -
I love mine, perfect for a milky coffee in the morning
Soup is a fab idea though, might hve to try that one
*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*No new toiletries challenge - use up the stash first!NSD Jan 2/150
