Joining Makro - self-employed

I'm registered as self-employed as a freelance photographer. Is there any reason I wouldn't be allowed to join Makro? I have recent correspondence from HMRC but I was wondering if I may not be able to join as Makro don't really sell much in the way of consumables for photographers (as far as I'm aware.)
Any thoughts?

You can join and buy whatever you want there, just won't be able to claim everything back on vat. To make it easier, each time you visit keep all the stuff you can claim vat on on one receipt and your other stuff on another.0

No problem at all - we're in Telecoms so the same sort of thing, and we have Makro cards. Just do not go there expecting everything to be cheap, a lot of the time food is not cheaper than supermarkets unless on offer. If you go shopping there just beware of prices, and make sure you take into account the VAT that will be on top of the prices shown. That said, there are some very good offers there from time to time. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

Hi, things may have changed since I joined over 10 years ago, but I do seem to remember that you had to be VAT registered !0
