  • Personally I would just fry the onions and then bung them all in to make a stew

    Hunters chicken

chicken fillets in an onion garlic , red wine ( or alternative) and mushroom sauce with the bacon bits n a slow cooker ( or normal shallow fry pan) simmer for ages

Serve with roast potatoes & maybe a french stick or crusty bread :D

    This Ive come to know...

  • Chop chicken into cubes and brown in frying pan, throw in bacon bits and some chopped onion.
Stir in some flour and add milk to make a sauce.
    Add grated cheese to taste.
Pop into a casserole and top with crumble. (4oz marg, 6oz flour, 4oz grated cheese, mixed nuts and/or seeds optional)
Bake in oven and 190C/Gas 5 for 1/2 hour or so.

Serve with jacket/roast spuds and mixed veg.

Not a slow-cooker recipe but scrumy. I love savoury crumbles. If you don't like crumble idea, you could also top with breadcrumbs and grated cheese.

An after thought, this also works with pasta. You can add sweetcorn, mushrooms, pepper according to taste.
Just cook on the stove for longer to make sure that the chicken is cooked through.

Add bacon and garlic and cheese, slit open the fillets, stuff with mix, wrap in foil and bake for 30 mins or panfry.
  • fry chopped bacon until a bit brown, then put in SC with chopped chicken fillets, chopped carrots, peas, chopped onion, stock cubes, milk, seasoning and a pinch of herbs. I think you need to use whole milk or it will split, but semi skimmed may be okay. Just before serving thicken with a little flour and butter mixed together and serve with rice.
