You need to clarify your definition of financial advisor a bit. There are different processes depending on the advisor. Some even call themselves financial advisor or give the impression to you they are financial advisors when they are not. If it is a tied financial advisor, you should report them to the company that they are tied to. If they are an independent financial advisor, you need to report them to themselves or the network they belong to.
If it is a mortgage advisor then you should report them to the company they work for. Or themselves if it is them.
The standard complaints proceedure must apply. If you do complain to an individual who is regulated directly with the FSA and they do not respond, don't worry, that just adds to the rules that have been breached and then you can go to the FSA.
There are some other processes you can use depending on the type of advisor. The above are just a few.
Of course, if it is fraud, you could go to the police. Whatever you do, you should make sure you have your facts right.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0
