SSA...see my replies to queries further back down the list....one was to an OP who really wanted to know if we'd 'do'BR again?

If the 'pain' was worth repeating?

As you know, I have never seen BR as a negative process.

I have always viewed BR as a process that allows folk to underline all that was past....and the trauma that went with it.

Would it really be like me to consider BR as a 'last resort?'

Nope...I viewed it as a new beginning.

and I still do......life...for me, anyway, is so much better post-BR....as if I've emptied the hoover bag of my past life.

I have concerns about Nohope's view that if there were some alternative, BR's should consider that first?

In my eye's,[providing criteria are met, of course...for BR]....any other option merely clings onto things from the past, which really are millstones around our necks.

For many years, I had an underlying negative view of how my [financial] world was moving....

then, after circumstances drastically changed, I found the impetus to do something positive about my situation.

We do this when, for example, husband and wife agree to part....a positive move..

so I did when I decided I must declare BR...again, a positive move.

Any move which allows us to shed an unhappy situation is positive.

besides, my string of replies seems the only new thing so far???

It was'nt my intention to get involved in any of this thats been going on today, merely unite people on the tenuous subject of bankruptcy.

But since i'm really struggling with issues of positivity at this point in time, then maybe my contributions are worthless to everyone, including myself.

and for every single contribution you make on here, there are a hundred who read them in silence, because you will strike a chord somewhere.

Every contribution...especially those that may help someone...even indirectly....has a value.

    you underestimate yourself....really!

No they are not, NH and I agree with your original sentiment...I may be responsible for opening a can of worms and should have just kept my seethingness seething to myself :)

We don't need silly bickering and !!!!!iness on the forums...most of us have enough stress to deal with, without the added c**pola....

Thank you for posting this thread and reminding me of my own humanity :)

Sorry I'm someone who can be quite blunt so forgive me if this come across as harsh...

You will never know when/how much what you say could suddenly bring some meaning to another person, so please make the choice to believe that your contribution will be of value to someone, somewhere....

FWIW my chosen name lbm - stands for light bulb moment
it's been posts from everyone, including yours where perhaps a phrase, perhaps a sentence, perhaps a post or a whole thread has provided a 'light bulb moment' to me (and doubtless other folk too, though they probably won't tell you that!) that are helping me through what is continuing to be an 'interesting' year for me!

It's also been all these lbm's that have cumulatively over the last several years helped me become more positive, learn how to ask for help & support and generally wriggle myself out of my own 'dark days' and learn how to cope, so much that people who've met me most recently have no idea of stuff I've been through ;) or that I've been through anything for that matter.
So my token of advice is 'keep you chin up because I know that you deserve to know that you ARE valued'
