Hi I'm not sure if this is in the right section but just wondering if anyone knows if the mortgage company are keeping retention on the mortgage will it change if the purchase price is reduced or is the retention fixed regardless of purchase price?

The retention has no impact on the purchase price.
It would usually be grounds to negotiate a lower purchase price though. That's your job, not the lender's.0
