Asda Christmas Voucher Promotion - starts 25th Oct ??

Hello
Just found a rather interesting post on HUKD which I thought may be useful - thanks to CReilly their post below:
At work today (ASDA Fleetwood) all till-trained colleagues were hauled into a meeting room for a briefing on our new xmas promotion. The gist of it is that every time a customer spends £40 instore, they recieve a voucher book with £40 of vouchers for free.
These will start to be given out on the 25th October; once you recieve your voucher book you will have two weeks to use it. Every week the voucher books change (they are colour coded, green, silver, gold etc). I have been shown some of the vouchers and they actually seem to be very good deals - for example, some will give you £5 off your shopping for buying a £3 item.
Some things to note: staff will "total" your shopping before using any of your vouchers, so the £40 price tag you have to meet is the price BEFORE you use any vouchers you have previously collected. They gave one 'realistic' shopping basket example where your shopping could end up costing you £20 instead of £50 and you get another £40 booklet at the end of it. Also, you can (this is the case in my store anyway) use the voucher books as soon as you get them... so spend £40, get the total up and get your voucher book, rip any applicable vouchers out straight away and use it against that shopping. Sounds daft I know but that's what they said! Also interesting is that if the item from the booklet is out of stock (should happen a lot) then there will be POS on the shelf indicating alternative products you can get instead, so there should be no problems in actually using the vouchers once you have them.
I believe the reason for this promotion is that every christmas ASDA loses a lot of its customers to Morrisons and Tescos who offer increased points/vouchers on their loyalty schemes and this is ASDAs attempt to undercut these and buy customer loyalty.
I will update this thread with prices as and when the various voucher booklets are released. Hope this was interesting to somebody!
Seems a very good promotion will keep a check on HUKD post to see if any more details are added

Interesting it's been marked as spam and deleted on HUKD, Jeez I will never understand that site, and the slap happy button clickers over something as apparently genuine and informative such as this.0 -
Tried the link & the page it goes to comes up as 'Now marked as Spam'0
