Never had a problem with Tiscali, now talk talk have bough them out its a constant nightmare

Same here!! OH spent 2 HOURS being passed from one department to another!!
    Slightly bitter
  • I came on here to warn people not to use Tiscali or Talk Talk. I have my broadband with Tiscali and my phone with Talk Talk. There is CONSTANT confusion between the two.

For the last four months Tiscali has been taking £5 extra per month out of my bank account to charge me for my phone calls that I currently play Talk Talk for.

I have complained by phone on many occasions and have been promised (by a helpful call centre operative called Leon) that I would have no charges applied to my account and they would compensate me for my trouble.

They lied. They are still taking the extra £5 out of my account. Complaints are ignored. There is nothing I can do to stop this it seems. They now owe me £20 plus the unpaid compensation.

I mentioned this on Twitter and there was an avalanche of complaints from other aggrieved customers and not just for Tiscali/Talk Talk either, for EVERY broadband/phone company.

I need my broadband for my work (I work as a writer for websites). When I don't have broadband I don't get paid. Yet we are at the mercy of uncaring conglomerates who take money from out bank accounts and do not provide us with decent service in return. The whole industry stinks.

If anyone can recommend an alternative, reliable broadband service I'd be very grateful.

Look at your own statements above. According to what you say you are looking something that doesn't exist!

Get onto Talktalk's forum and you'll get your problem sorted out as previously suggested by the Talktalk Rep. It's an excellent online system.

I've been with Talk Talk for over a year and I've never once had to contact them. I ordered online and the only contact I've ever had from is a monthly email saying my bill is ready. I've never had any issues with service, downtime etc. Now AOL, they're a whole different story............

I guess every company has good and bad service!

    Hi all,

I can appreciate any customers who have had a poor experiences with their services will be undoubtedly frustrated at this.

For any customers with issue feel free to join the TalkTalk Forum and we can investigate into and resolve any issue you may be encountering.

    Regards

    Mark

Why do customers have to go through to a forum to make a complaint? Why don't you have a customer service department to handle all complaints like normal companies have?

I apologise for contradicting myself, but isn't it a terrible state of affairs? What an industry. So many dissatisfied customers.

G42 do you work for Talk Talk?

Talk Talk are fine as long as things are working. Once something goes wrong, they don't want to know about it.

I'm sick to death of seeing "Don't use Talktalk/Tiscali" or for that matter Virgin, BT or any other. Every company has their problems from time to time. By all means have a moan/vent about your particular problem but don't try to make out that every other customer will run into the same problem by heading it up as "Don't use etc". As far as I'm concerned I've been with Tiscali/Talktalk for several years and had no problem and neither will the vast majority of their customers. The same goes for other companies as well.

Erm sorry not true, just look thinkbroads forums, and you will see the countless people unhappy with TalkTalk.

Because its bad publicity on a forum, on the phone they can pretend it didn't happen.
Yes, talktalk and tiscali are a joke. My dad wanted to change the name on the account from my mum to him. 'Yes sir that will be done no problem', next thing he knew they DISCONNECTED him for 6 weeks!
When I moved into a new house we took BB with tiscali. It basically didn't work, for 3 months. I called them repeatedly and they were just too incompetent to fix it, so they let me out of the 12 month contract. I then went to plusnet who had the problem fixed within about 3 days, and sent me text messages and phoned me to let me know how they were getting on at fixing it throughout.
Luckily we still got the £25 quidco from Tiscali, and I got them to give me £25 (or maybe it was £30?) compensation for all the phone calls and lack of service. Considering we paid I think £4.99 a month for those 3 months we thus came out of it with a net profit of about £30!
